About

As I start this blog, I am reading a book called "Creating your Best Life: The Ultimate Life List Guide".  This book details how to go about making "Life Lists" (more familiarly known as "bucket lists").  The purpose of a "Life List" is to give yourself things to strive for; goals that stretch you and require a little (or a lot!) more effort with the ultimate payoff being increased life satisfaction.  Goal setting is proven to be an important factor in quality of life, and those who set goals report feeling more fulfilled than those who choose not to.

One of my Life List items is to successfully launch a food blog (declaring your goals is one way to really get your arse in gear towards fulfilling them - something about not wanting to humiliate yourself in front of others...).  Another motivator is to break your big goal into smaller pieces, so my initial goal for EZ Peas-Z is to provide a place where people can go to get tried and true recipes and meal plans that are healthy, delicious, and not terribly time consuming.  As a full time wife, mom, avid outdoor enthusiast, and 9 to 5er, my husband and I don't have hours to spend in the kitchen preparing elaborate dinners.

We do, however, love food - especially home cooked meals.

In conversations with friends and family about pulling together meals during the week, when it comes time for the dreaded "whats for dinner?" question, it is not necessarily the act of cooking that is the major headache (though for some it is) but rather, deciding what it is that you are going to serve up to the masses.  Fortunately, I happen to get a lot of satisfaction out of putting together a meal plan for the week...and I also tend to enjoy my weekly foray to the grocery store (are you gagging yet?).  What can I say, a well stocked kitchen really does it for me!

Considering all of that - if you don't mind, or maybe even LIKE cooking, but would rather poke yourself in the eye with a needle than sit down with a pile of recipes on the weekend to decide what to put on the table for dinner...I think I can help!  Stay tuned for weekly meal ideas, recipes, and general thoughts on cooking/home improvement/life/whatever happens to be on my mind.  Thanks for checking in and enjoy your kitchen adventures!
